Dare to wear color. Stepping out of my comfort zone to wear the season’s bold-hued pieces. The love for neutral shades will always be on the top of my list, but adding color to the wardrobe really does bring things alive. Aversion to colors can simply be solved by starting off with small accessories – necklaces, bracelets, and finally a bold bag, then transitioning onto brighter apparel, etc. For example, I loved nude shades, so I tried a darker shade of nude, almost like dark tan, and slowly transitioned around the same area of the color wheel and tried on brighter yellows (thank goodness for top-of-the-season selections from Luisaviaroma). Not only with colors, textures can also add interest to the entire look. By now, we must have recognized the ruffle trend that’s been looping around, from necklines to dramatic sleeves, and onto bottoms. I love, LOVE these ruffled denim jeans by MM6 (Maison Martin Margiela’s diffusion line with edgy and cool pieces that can be worn every day). Even with just a plain tee shirt, these jeans will bring life to the entire look. By all means, life is too short for boring clothes, right?
